London and the South East is the UK’s most populous region with the highest density. Despite that – or perhaps because of it – it is the focus of both the UK’s motorway and rail network, with 7 major rail termini and the M1, M2, M3, M4, M11, M23 and M40 all starting in the outskirts of London, as well as the major trunk roads the A1, A3, A12 and A13. In addition, the ports of east London and Essex, as well as Southampton are very important sea hubs, being close to both the South East’s population and the major seaway of the English Channel.
The M25 is London’s outer ring road; the A406 and A206 – better known as the North and South Circular - provides an inner ring. Large warehouses inside the Circular are rare, but smaller warehouses are possible to find, particularly on Zupplychain.
Given the population and commercial activity of the South East, there are many areas with significant warehousing capacity for pallet storage. The most choice can be found around the ports and docks of East London, Tilbury and Essex; Southampton and Portsmouth; and the Medway towns of Chatham. In-land, major areas are along the M25’s northern route and Hertfordshire and the Reading-Slough belt of the M25.
